Turbary Woods Owl and Bird of Prey Sanctuary is a pure volunteer based, non profit group of volunteers. The flying display give you the visitors, Children & Adults, the chance to participate in the flying display and have our birds land on your gloved hand as they fly to you for their food.We have a collection of over 80 birds of prey including eagles, hawks, falcons, owls, vultures and more unusual species. All the birds are housed in large open fronted aviaries, sheltered in a woodland setting. We assist conservation and education of these beautiful Birds and we are involved with an average of 50 rescues each year.

Owl & Hawk Experience Day

Do you want to get a little closer and hands on with our birds?

The course we offer is not simply a falconry lesson or display where we talk to you for a while.

Please Note: Our Handling courses are only available during the week days.

The money paid for the voucher goes directly back into the upkeep of the sanctuary, feeding cost and vets bills. Unlike Falconry centres that are run as a business.

This is a unique experience that will enable you to fly up to 4 different species from our collection which includes flying hawks, owls, buzzards and if you're really brave and strong our very own vulture.

It also includes the basics beginner information that all falconers will need to learn.
