When you visit a Jockey Club racecourse you're taking your place in over 260 years of racing history. The thunder of hooves, the spectacular colours and the tinkle of champagne glasses are all part of the thrill and excitement of a great day at the races.
Huntington Racecourse is situated a few minutes from the picturesque market town from which it derives its name and offers intimate racing in a friendly atmosphere. Voted the Best Small Racecourse in East Anglia and the South Midlands it attracts locals and those who love their racing in the beautiful backdrop of the Cambridgeshire countryside. Huntingdon Races can be reached easily by road, via the A1 and by rail, on the Kings Cross main line.
Huntingdon races are certainly popular but there is one annual fixture at Huntingdon which gains national interest and television coverage but does not feature horses at all.
This is the Mascot Grand National, in which football team and other sports mascots race over hurdles. This fun side of racing typifies part of the appeal of Huntingdon, where a great day out is as important as enjoying some first class National Hunt racing.
