Beach Getaways

The weather in the UK can be very temperamental throughout the year and holiday makers in the past have opted to jump on a plane and travel to foreign lands that experience a far warmer climate. However, the tide seems to have turned and Britain’s seaside is encountering a new lease of life. Tourists are now flocking to many of the UK’s hottest beach locations to experience the unique feel of a British seaside break. It is therefore a great time to stay in a pub B&B and enjoy the beautiful British coastline.

Pubs and inns across the UK provide a comfortable and peaceful stay while being ideally located for beach breaks. Rooms are innovatively styled and now come equipped with modern amenities such as tea and coffee making facilities, flat screen TVs, Wi-Fi, and en-suite bathrooms. Pub B&B also offers visitors a tasty selection of home cooked breakfast options so that guests can start the day the right way before heading off to the beach. Guests can enjoy the fantastic British seaside experience visiting piers, playing on the penny arcades, building sandcastles, and of course enjoy some classic British fish and chips. After a great day out at the beach you can sit down and savour a relaxing evening in the pub, enjoy a few drinks, tuck into some scrumptious traditional homemade pub food, and then at the end of the night head up to your room, just a stone’s throw away. What could be better than that!

If you are looking for beach holidays in the UK, then South Devon is definitely worth a look. The English Riviera, consisting of Brixham, Paignton, and Torquay, has over 22 miles of sandy beaches and beautiful coastline on the south coast of Devon. Torquay and Paignton offer clean and safe beaches with wonderfully clear blue sea and are traditional English seaside resorts in the south of Devon. North of Torquay, Babbacombe has two charming and delightful beaches lying beneath towering red sandstone cliffs covered in lush vegetation. Visitors to the beaches of Babbacombe can also make use of the famous Babbacombe Cliff Railway, one of very few remaining funicular railways in the UK.

Cornwall is home to some of the best beaches in the UK and the world. Cornwall has the most beautiful and varied coastline in Britain, with long strands of golden sand, coves of salt-and-pepper pebbles, and rock pools that are works of art. In particular, West Cornwall offers up a rich variety of beaches which are spacious, sheltered, and easily accessible, making them popular with families. Beaches around the towns of St Ives and Penzance are very popular tourist destinations and offer a wide variety of water sports including body boarding, surfing, paddle boarding, sailing, and windsurfing.

Wales offers some of the most remote, picturesque, and stunning beaches in the UK with a coastline that is very popular amongst surfers, swimmers, and rock poolers who love spending their weekends in the gleaming welsh sea. The beaches of Rhossili, Tenby, and Barafundle are regularly voted Britain’s best, with Harbour Beach being named the best beach in Europe in 2014. A small beach tucked up under the wall of Tenby’s quaint harbour, Harbour Beach provides a beautiful backdrop to the medieval walled town of Tenby providing visitors with a beautiful environment to enjoy a seaside break.

Whatever it is, whether it’s the long, white stretches of sand, the distinctive beauty and charm, or the crystal blue waters, Scottish beaches seem to have a certain quality that has made them become adored all over the world. Beaches in Scotland are a great place to go for a quiet walk, to play with the children, or to take part in water sports activities. However, whatever you decide to do on the sands of Scotland, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for marine life and seabirds flying overhead.

So if you are not sure about where to go on your beach holiday or where to stay, why not stay in a pub B&B and explore the wonderful sites of the British coastline?
