Welcome to Snowdonia

Croeso i Eryri

Snowdonia is one of the UK's most places to go on walking and adventure holidays. It is home to the region's biggest mountain in Wales and England, Snowdon (3,560ft) and the Llyn Peninsula which is an Area of Outstanding Natural beauty (AONB).

If you aren't sure where to go on your next holiday but want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life then a trip to Snowdonia is a must. With a landscape made up of beautiful sandy beaches, magnificent peaks and mountains as well as countryside, there is an abundance of outdoor activities on offer in the region.

Snowdonia is most famous for Snowdon and every year many people come to walk it. However there are plenty of other walking routes on offer. The Wales Coast Path is a continuous 870 mile round the whole of Wales and passes through Snowdonia's Llyn Peninsula, Menai and Meirionydd. If you are with the family then perhaps head to Bala which as well as offering trails for experienced walkers, has a variety of routes suitable for children and families.

Of course it's not all about walking when you visit Snowdonia. Another thing to do is head out onto the water! There are plenty of lakes to try out watersports including Llyn Tegid Bala which is Wales's largest natural lake and a haven for sailors, canoeists and windsurfers.

As many holidays to Snowdonia are activity based, pubs provide guests with the perfect base to explore this magnificent region. Many are accommodating to walkers needs and offer a range of rooms from budget to family and luxury rooms. They are a great alternative to hotels or traditional bed and breakfasts as they provide guests with not just a place to stay and eat and but also somewhere to relax and socialise in the evenings.

After a fantastic hike up Snowdon guests can head back to the pub, enjoy a delicious home cooked meal and have a few pints before having a refreshing night's sleep in their room which is just a stone's throw away. With rooms fitted with facilities such as luxurious beds, modern en-suite bathrooms and flat screen TVs, guests are sure to have a comfortable stay.
