Family Holidays in the Lake District
The Lake District is home to magnificent mountains, highland fells, vibrant market towns and thrilling attractions. It’s the perfect place to escape to great outdoors! As one of the most popular holiday destinations in England, the region has something for everyone and whether you’re with the kids or teenagers there’s plenty of fun to be had.
Why not head out onto the water and take a trip down Windermere? There are plenty of places to hire electric boats, canoes and kayaks and the water offers a more gentle opportunity to explore the Lake District.
Of course many people enjoy walking through the Lake District and even if you are with the family there are plenty of stress free, easier strolls and accessible routes for those with buggies. Take a look at the Lake District National Park website for more information.
There are also plenty of family attractions to keep the kids entertained on holiday. Many also offer the chance to learn about the Lake District, its history, natural environment and wildlife. Top attractions include: Treetop Trek – an adventure woodland with over 30 tree top challenges; Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway – sit back and relax whilst enjoying the dramatic scenery in a steam engine train; Lake District Wildlife Park – spend the day with animals in this 25 acre wildlife park.
Whatever your family’s interests you’re sure to have a great family holiday in the Lake District!
